“At London Hormone Clinic, we make it a priority to understand each of our patient’s individual requirements, and tailor their treatment plans accordingly. There is no one-size-fits-all approach here – just evidence-based medicine, combined with a personalised, patient-focused approach, delivered with thought and compassion.”
Dr Jan Toledano, Founder of London Hormone Clinic
About London Hormone Clinic
Founded in 2016 by Dr Jan Toledano, London Hormone Clinic is a centre of excellence for women at all stages of their lives, and men over the age of forty. We offer the best in personalised hormonal health, bringing together a team of outstanding doctors – each with a wealth of experience, and all trained and practised in the latest, evidence-based hormonal medicine.
Our aim is for hormonal optimisation, and we achieve that using individualised treatment plans to restore health and wellbeing in both the short and long term. This includes the use of body/bio-identical hormones to treat conditions such as perimenopause and menopause. As a team we are committed to finding answers to our patients’ hormonal issues, beyond simply treating the symptoms.
01
We manage women’s hormonal health throughout life.
Unlike many clinics, which have a narrow focus on the menopause, London Hormone Clinic is unrivalled in its expertise at treating women at all stages of their life cycle – from the age of eighteen, through the reproductive years, and the menopause.
02
Because of this, we get to know our patients over many years.
Whilst many clinics may only treat a woman for a particular condition, or at a certain age, we see our patients throughout the different stages of their lives. We have followed young women with endometriosis through their fertility journeys, associated PMS, and eventually into perimenopause. And we have helped women struggling with mood and weight gain to understand their condition. Realising it is not their fault, and that it can be treated, is often life-changing.
03
We specialise in managing complex hormonal conditions that are poorly managed in most other medical settings.
Often GPs, gynaecologists, and menopause clinics are unable to manage, or manage poorly, many conditions, such as premenstrual syndrome and endometriosis. Sometimes, they are simply unable to diagnose the conditions correctly to begin with. As a centre of excellence for hormone health, we have years of experience, successfully treating women of all ages, and men, where other medical interventions have fallen short.
You will find a more detailed overview of these conditions here.
04
We always start with hormone medication available on the NHS, and in high street pharmacies.
Body and bio-identical hormones available on the NHS work for many patients, but sometimes alternative solutions are needed. If a patient is unable to absorb gel, or ingest gelatin for example, we use regulated pharmacies to provide medication that meets each patient’s exact requirements.
05
We offer a bespoke, integrated approach to menopause.
Menopause is a difficult time for many women, but there is no reason at all for anyone to suffer. When ovarian hormone levels drop, women struggle to sleep, and often find they are low in energy and motivation. The thyroid can be affected, and early prediabetes may also start to develop. Most GPs and menopause clinics only look at oestrogen and progesterone levels, whilst some consider testosterone too, but in many cases, this isn’t enough. We go much further, replacing thyroid hormones, Dhea for motivation, melatonin for sleep, and reversing the onset of early pre-diabetes, the driver for many long-term health problems.
Our Story
A decade specialising in sexual health at St Bart’s hospital led Jan to develop a passion for hormonal medicine, as it was there that she found many of the issues faced by the women she was treating didn’t quite fit into the areas of endocrinology or gynaecology. Jan knew that by combining her extensive experience in women’s health, with her passion for hormones she could provide a solution.
Over the next few years she focused on working with, and training under, world-renowned pioneers in hormonal medicine, including Marion Gluck and Neal Rouzier. And, in 2016, she set up the London Hormone Clinic, combining the best in evidence-based medicine with a cutting-edge approach to hormonal health.
For Jan, it has never been about a list of medical conditions. Her focus has always been on the patient, treating those who have complex conditions and those who have struggled to find solutions elsewhere, as well as empowering women of all ages with knowledge and understanding.
The specialist team of doctors at London Hormone Clinic have all been trained by Jan. They combine the best in hormonal medicine with a patient-focused approach, making this world-renowned clinic an unrivalled centre of excellence, where results and patient testimonials really do speak for themselves.
